How to give someone access to Facebook pages, ad accounts, and pixels if you are a Business Manager admin

Updated over 8 months ago

In order to grant members of your Facebook Business Manager access to individual assets within your account, you must be an admin of that Business Manager.

Facebook Business Manager

To verify your Business Manager permissions, go to the business settings in the Facebook Business Manager.

Click on Users>People to see a list of members within your Business Manager. You will see the names along with what type of access they have. You want to make sure you have "Full control, Everything" access to the business.

If you do not have this access, someone who does have full control will need to grant you the same access. They will be able to click the three dots next to your name, then select "Edit Business Account Permissions". From there, they will be able to grant "Full Control, Everything".

Facebook Page

Within the business settings in the Facebook Business Manager (must be admin), click on "Pages", then select your page from the middle of the screen. Once selected, you will be able to see the "Add people" button - click this.

From here, you select the people you want to give access to on the left side. Each person you select you will want to give the "Everything" access to. You can find this by scrolling all the way down on the left hand side.

If you've selected a person along with granting them "Everything" control, then you can click "Assign".

Facebook Ad Account

Within the business settings in the Facebook Business Manager (must be admin), click "Ad accounts". You will be able to select your ad account from the middle, and then click "Add people" from the right hand side.

A screen will pop up for you to select which people you would like to grant access to. Once you select the person you'd like to add, make sure you also select "Manage ad accounts". If these are both done, then you can click "Assign".

Facebook Dataset (Pixel)

Within the business settings in the Facebook Business Manager (must be admin), you will click Data Sources>Datasets from the left hand side:

From here, you will select your dataset, then click on "Assign people".

Once clicking "Assign people", it'll bring up this screen. You will select the people in your Business Manager that you'd like to assign access to your dataset; make sure to select "Manage events dataset" as well. Once everything is selected, you can click "Assign".
